UPDATE...

I have "relinquished" my Nikon promotional equipment under somewhat disappointing circumstances. The D80 appears to have a shutter malfunction issue--both cameras they sent me fell victim. The first camera started locking up and generating an "ERR" message after a couple weeks usage. The promotional company sent me another. This one worked fine for nearly six months and then did the same thing--except with more conviction. No amount of coaxing (turning the camera off, removing the battery, resetting it to factory default, etc.) would clear the error. So I resigned myself to the fact that I would not be able to continue using the camera, and I sent it back. Don't get me wrong, I am still a die-hard Nikonian (in fact I just ordered a D200). I am just not impressed with the D80.

Nikon's "Picture This" Promotion

Nikon has selected Didjuneau as a participant in their "Picture This" promotion for their new D80 digital SLR. As one of the participants, I will be receiving a Nikon D80 (and an 18-135mm lens) to use and evaluate for a period of six months. At the end of the six months, I can either return the camera, extend the loan period for another six months, or buy the camera at an "editorial discount". All that Nikon asks in return for this privilege is that we disclose how we received the equipment should we decide to talk about it on our site. Not a bad agreement if I do say so myself!

Didjuneau was selected as one of only fifty (50) blogs nationwide to participate in this program. A flickr group has been created for the participating bloggers which you can visit here.

So watch for new photos and perhaps some links to other "Picture This" participants! :)
